about

Black Bone Nation - The walking, talking, living, breathing, fist-pumping embodiment of all that hard rock has encompassed since the movement began. Fun-loving, rip-roaring, hard partying and filled with melodic danger and grinning optimism, Black Bone Nation craft underdog-championing anthems with reckless abandon.

A Johannesburg – South African based, classic hard rock band formed by the founding member, and front man, Zakk Styles (Lead guitars/Vocals) in May 2015. The bands’ vision and image took shape in the form of a one part “white shade band” (Blues Rock), and a “black shade band” (Classic Hard Rock), enabling them to create their versatile and unique, no-nonsense brand of music catering to a wide range of audiences.

Black Bone Nation has fast been pioneering the hard rock music scene in South Africa with their old school no-nonsense rock roll music and attitude for the past two years. Recently expanding into global territories, the band has won numerous awards for best EP of the year (Banks Radio Australia), and best single of the year twice consecutive (Banks Radio Australia) for their hit song “Backseat Lover” , among numerous other awards.

The band continues to push their music on a global scale as a European tour and US tour is in the works for the future.

The band has created, and released their very own “Black Bone Lager” craft beer as part of theirmerchandise range. Capturing all elements of rock ‘n roll in a tasty, ice cold beer!

Influences and music sound alikes include legendary artists; Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Richie Kotzen, Guns ‘n Roses and many others, whom contributed in creating their rock ‘n roll sound.

Winners of 2015 Underground Band Of the year. (Deafness Radio – Germany)
Single of the year 2017 – Banks Radio Australia – For “Backseat Lover”
Overall single of the year 2017 – Banks Radio Australia – For “Backseat Lover”
EP Album Of The Year 2018 - Banks Radio Australia - For the self-titled “Black Bone Nation” EP.

Track Name: Born To Rock
Hitting the top
Ain’t got no way to stop
I got nothing to lose
But to play the blues

Rolling the dice
And I won’t think twice
This time around
I’m coming down

You better get loud
You better no doubt
You better stand up

Hey - We’re coming on
Hey - It’s been way too long
Way too long

Born To Rock
Born To Rock
Born To Rock
Born To Rock

It’s time again
It’s a one-way end
The crowds are out
Ten thousand loud

I’m feeling the sweat
On the back of my neck
We’re blazing on
With the crowds along

You better get loud
You better no doubt
You better stand up

Hey - We’re coming on
Hey - It’s been way too long
Way too long

Track Name: Bottoms Up
I am the king of kings
In my Motörhead
Got an ace of spades
It’s all about the game

Can’t be killed by death
But you’d be dead forever
Gonna give it hell
I’m gonna eat the rich

Bottoms Up - Raise your glass now
Bottoms Up - Long live Lemmy
Bottoms Up - Raise your glass now
Bottoms Up - Long live Lemmy

I am a no class mama
Got my iron fist
I got my baby’s mama
I’m gonna shine till’ the end

Bottoms Up - Raise your glass now
Bottoms Up - Long live Lemmy
Bottoms Up - Raise your glass now
Bottoms Up - Long live Lemmy

Track Name: Here I Am
I see you out there coming
On your knees you keep coming on
Oh so long

You keep saying you got something
Something that I’ve been wanting long
Oh so long

Yeah – Here I am, holding on
Yeah – Here I am, standing tall

Your life is all but coming
No way that I’ll be hanging on
Oh so long

It’s all so damn easy
Just keep on keep pleasing me
Oh so long

Yeah – Here I am, holding on
Yeah – Here I am, standing tall

Yeah – Here I am, holding on
Yeah – Here I am, standing tall
Track Name: All For Tomorrow
Saying that the day is done
That tomorrow never comes
That today is here

Leave your sorrow and debt behind
It’s a new dawn for a life
On this day

Hey, Hey, we’re living for tomorrow
Oh how the day has done
Hey, Hey, we’re living for tomorrow
Oh how the day has done

Dressed too many pages
In the memories of gold
Wishing to return

Thorn that’s left inside your heart
Never cease to grow
Forever more

Hey, Hey, we’re living for tomorrow
Oh how the day has done
Hey, Hey, we’re living for tomorrow
Oh how the day has done

Hey, Hey, we’re living for tomorrow
Oh how the day has done
Hey, Hey, we’re living for tomorrow
Oh how the day has done
Track Name: Live To Ride
I'm a black top vagabond
And I'm running through this town
I'm a hard hitting wire
And I'm gonna catch your fire

I'm the highway
I'm the byway
I'm the one they
Never wanted stopping

Live To Ride
Ride To Live
Live To Ride
Ride To Live

I'm a steel wing rider
Gonna get you on higher
I'm a hell raising fighter
And I'm gonna get ya fire

Live To Ride
Ride To Live
Live To Ride
Ride To Live

Ride
Ride To Live
Ride
Ride To Live

Track Name: Play My Game
Spent my life living out on the streets
Living it seems by living the dream
Take my money and you take my soul
Taking it all for rock ‘n roll

Hey, You, Come On – Play my game
Hey, You, Come On – Play my game

Tied my lace and I tied my fate
Chasing that need before it’s too late
Ain’t no punching no nine to five
I’m running along on a switchblade knife

Hey, You, Come On – Play my game
Hey, You, Come On – Play my game

Hey, You, Come On – Play my game
Hey, You, Come On – Play my game
Track Name: Million Miles
Hey, I’m wondering where you are tonight
What became of you
In the light of the stars

Can you hear me call your name
Out there running on too long
Holding on to you

I cried and cried through the endless nights
Just to hear your voice
Your name still haunts me till’ the day that I die
I can never love again

I put a million miles on my heart
I’ve run a thousand miles across the ocean for you
Just to hear you call my name
Again

My life it seems so complicated
No judgement free from the heartache and pain
Feeling worthless in mine

I put a million miles on my heart
I’ve run a thousand miles across the ocean for you
Just to hear you call my name

I put a million miles on my heart
I’ve run a thousand miles across the ocean for you
Just to hear you call my name
Again

I put a million miles on my heart
I’ve run a thousand miles across the ocean for you
Just to hear you call my name
Again
Track Name: King Of Sorrow
I tried and tried
But still it swallows
It seeks my hate but gives it love
Not quite dead but still alive
In frozen veins it seeks my soul

I tried a lifetime but still I found
These things inside, they scream and shout
I tried a lifetime and now I found
This thing that’s me ain’t me

Now time and time
It crawls from shadows
Oh no way out and nowhere to run
Don’t you know it’s just begun
All barred you know your mine

I tried a lifetime but still I found
These things inside, they scream and shout
I tried a lifetime and now I found
This thing that’s me ain’t me

I tried a lifetime but still I found
These things inside, they scream and shout
I tried a lifetime and now I found
This thing that’s me ain’t me

I tried a lifetime
These things inside
I tried a lifetime
These things inside

This thing that’s me ain’t me
Track Name: Magic Man
Looking out
Over the horizon and all I see is you
Staring down
These four walls around me and all I want is truth

I'm going south for the fever in my bones to drown out
Put your head back down and leave the noise behind and climb out

Cuz I'm done with this self-doubt

Knowing Now
The stories I've been told and all I know is you
Shaking now
This fevers got control and all I want is truth

I'm going south for the fever in my bones to drown out
Put your head back down and leave the noise behind and climb out

Cuz I'm done with this self-doubt

I'm going south for the fever in my bones to drown out
Put your head back down and leave the noise behind and climb out

Cuz I'm done with this self-doubt
